RME Carneys Creek Trail Ride
Route Info

The KTM Carneys Creek Enduro Trail Ride is almost here. In this update we have included some info to help you understand the trail format at this venue.

Ride times

The venue will open from 7am to allow you to get set-up, grab brekky and coffee, and enjoy the rest of your day at the RME Enduro Trail Ride.
This event is on a Saturday. The trail route is open from 9am until 3pm. You can ride as many laps as you like during this time.

Route description

All RME Trail Ride Events have a format of riders following a marked trail through private property. For safety reasons riders must stay on the surveyed route. RME sweep riders only cover the marked trails.
The route at this venue, comprises mainly old logging tracks, cattle trails and some hand cut singles in typical classic enduro type terrain, with a few 4×4 trails as well. There is a gradual elevation change of 150mts along the route, that has kept things interesting.

Trail cutting is still on-going, but we expect the total route length of the Main Trail to be 20-30kms. To help you manage any fatigue, or just for a warm up lap we have added 3 short-cut options.

This may all make more sense if you have another look at the Event Trail video on this link.
We recommend you take it slow on the first lap looking for the trail markers. The RME Trail Team have put up lots of arrows to help keep you on the right trail. In the sections where there are NO trees, you will be following orange ribbon tags in the bushes.

Route sectors

The route is divided into 30 sectors. Sector markers are located along the route. If you call or message the Event Control, from the trail route, please mention what sector number you are near. The Event Control phone number for this event will be advised in the final update email.

Route marking

Route marking is with orange KTM arrows and orange ribbon, with signs indicating the short-cuts.

Route safety

  • Only ride on the marked route and in the direction indicated.
  • Riders MUST wear appropriate safety gear, including Helmets, Protective Eyewear and Riding Boots.
  • Always carry sufficient drinking water – the unexpected can happen out on the trail that may delay your return.
  • Always ride within your ability. If you are injured, fatigued or your bike is damaged, stay near the route and seek help from other riders and/or a RME Team sweep rider. All injuries to be reported to the on-site medical services located at the event base.
  • Take tools, the essentials for basic repairs and a spare spark plug.

Enjoy the ride, look out for others, and stay safe!
And don’t forget to Stop and take in where you’re riding, there is some great scenery at this venue. Take a photo or just a deep breath.
Some additional info can be found on our Trail Ride FAQ’s page.
Looking forward to seeing you soon at the KTM Carneys Creek Enduro Trail Ride!
